Kaluga-made Jaecoo J8 certified in the Russian Federation

Chinese crossover Jaecoo J8 has passed certification in Russia and received the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA). This was reported on December 28 by Telegram-channel "Autopotok".

According to its data, certification documents have been issued for Jaecoo J8 produced by the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga.

Back in August, Deputy Governor of the Kaluga region Vladimir Popov said that the plant in Kaluga has started serial assembly of cars and plans to produce 27 thousand cars by the end of the year. Which models have been put on the assembly line has not been officially announced so far.

Sales of crossovers Jaecoo J8 of Chinese assembly began in Russia in April this year. The car costs from 4.6 million to 5.3 million rubles. Jaecoo J8 is equipped with a two-liter turbo engine with an output of 249 hp (385 Nm) in conjunction with a seven-speed "robot", which allows you to accelerate to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds. The length of the crossover is 4820 mm with a wheelbase of 2820 mm.

December 25, it was reported that the Russian-built Exeed RX crossover has completed the certification process and received Type Approval of the vehicle. In the document, the assembly site of the Exeed RX is specified former Mercedes-Benz plant in the industrial park "Esipovo" in the Moscow region. There are no technical details about the domestically assembled model yet.
