The Defense Ministry announced the end of the fall draft in Russia

The fall conscription in Russia has been completed, 133 thousand people have been sent to the troops for compulsory service. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 28.

"In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation[Vladimir Putin] from September 30, 2024 № 822 this fall for military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and other military formations called up and sent 133 thousand people," - stated in the message published in the Telegram-channel of the department.

Conscription was carried out throughout Russia. It is specified that the young men who arrived at the military enlistment offices had the right to choose to undergo military service in different types of the Armed Forces (AF) taking into account their health condition.

The majority of conscripts were enrolled in training formations and military units, where they will master modern military equipment and get a military specialty. Also, 578 people were sent to scientific and research and production units, and 200 members of the Russian national team in Olympic sports were sent to sports companies.

The Defense Ministry emphasized that conscripts were not sent to the locations of Russian Armed Forces units in new regions: the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

"The conscripted servicemen, who have served the established terms of military service, were timely dismissed and sent to their places of residence," the ministry added.

Earlier, on December 26, the Defense Ministry reported that the combat training program for assault units of the Russian Armed Forces included training in tunnels and underground communications. This approach is necessary to increase the effectiveness of work in taking enemy positions.

The day before it was also reported that the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces (RCDBZ) began training operators of copter-type drones, FPV drones, as well as groups to combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the enemy. The special training takes place at training ranges located both at permanent deployment points and in the rear areas of the Strategic Defense Forces. In the course of the training, personnel familiarize themselves with the theory of use and the material part of drones, and are also trained in drone control, reconnaissance and fire correction.
