Men who robbed a jewelry store in Saransk detained in Moscow

Two men robbed a jewelry salon in Saransk for 10 million rubles and were detained by police in Moscow. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry on Saturday, December 28.

"Two raiders in the evening went into a jewelry store located on Kovalenko Street, smashed the showcases with a sledgehammer and took from the counters six tablets with gold jewelry with a total value of about 10 million rubles, after which they fled the scene of the crime on different transport, and sold the stolen valuables in Moscow for 700 thousand rubles," - stated in the Telegram-channel "MVD Media".

After that, the detectives came on the trail of the suspects, detained them in the capital in a rented apartment and brought them back to Saransk. 660 thousand rubles were seized from the attackers.

A criminal case was opened under paragraph "b" part 3 of article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Robbery on a large scale"). The defendants did not testify and were arrested.

At the moment the investigation is continuing. The location of the stolen jewelry is being clarified.

Earlier, on November 23, the man who robbed the jewelry store was detained in Krasnodar region. It was reported that he broke the window with a piece of paving slabs and tried to escape with jewelry worth about 365 thousand rubles. The intruder was detained and handed over to the police by the security of the outlet.
