Azerbaijan to change temporary stay rules for Russian citizens

Azerbaijani authorities will change the rules of temporary stay for Russian citizens on the territory of the country. This was reported by the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry in its Telegram channel on December 28.
"In the coming days it is planned to make changes to the rules on the terms of temporary stay of citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan," the message reads.
The Foreign Ministry indicated that the decision on new rules was made because of changes in the rules of stay of foreigners in Russia.
All the details of the innovations will be presented later.
Earlier, on August 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law introducing a migration regime of expulsion of foreign citizens or stateless persons illegally staying in the country or violating the law.
On June 8, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said in an interview with Izvestia that Russia will never be a country closed to foreign labor, as it is a dead-end path. She noted that the migration policy should be clear, governmental and verified. It needs some adjustment, which is being done by a working group, including the SF, Matvienko said.
