The actors of the movie "Finist. The first bogatyr" for stunts learned fist fighting

For the fight scenes in the movie "Finist. The first bogatyr", which will be released on January 1, 2025, the actors took courses in Russian fist fights and weapons. Participants of the filming on December 28, told about the staging of stunts for the picture.

Russian warriors, fighting against invading foreigners, took weapons in their hands from a young age.

"A man could start going on campaigns at 13-14 years old, by 18, if he survived, he was already an experienced druzhinnik. And by 25 he could finish his career - military luck, it is not infinite," - said the head of the club of military-historical reconstruction "Snow Leopard" Borislav Timoshkin.

A real sword fight in reality lasts only about 15 seconds, and the wooden shield could protect the warrior only from four blows of the enemy. After them, a sharp blade simply broke the shield. In order to shoot such scenes, the actors were specially trained to wield weapons.

"Finist. The first bogatyr" tells about how the bylinny hero, along with assistants, goes to the eastern lands and fights there with fabulous opponents. Actor Sergei Lavygin drew attention to the fact that the movie has many elements of magic.

Director of action scenes Robert Kahn noted that to play a fight with a monster from a fairy tale is quite difficult because the monster in front of the actor is not, and have to imagine how much the monster has long legs, how it is able to move and run, how far can throw the protagonist. To make such fights realistic, instead of fairy-tale creatures with actors "fight" stuntmen, and the appearance of the monster then finalized by 3D-artists.

"If the stuntman performs the work poorly, the charisma of the character is lost instantly. The more I convey the spirit of the panther, its plasticity, the plasticity of the snake, I facilitate 50%, as I think, the task of CG-specialists," - said understudy stuntman Michael Selivanov.

The most difficult scene of the movie was the landing of a flying boar. Part of it was filmed in the pavilion, and the rest - in specially built sets. Stunt director Oleg Chemodurov said that the mayhem caused by the fairy-tale beast was filmed with the help of pyrotechnics, which made boards and wheelbarrows fly apart by pressing buttons with split-second accuracy - the computer did not control these explosions.

Earlier, December 16, the leader of the rock band The Hatters Yuri Muzychenko said that it was not difficult for the team to write the title song to the movie "Finist. The First Bogatyr", because the band's compositions constantly feature the harmonica, which helps to bring "Russianness" into the sound. In addition, when writing the soundtracks, it was necessary to combine the images of the bogatyr Finist, Leshey and Baba Yaga with the motifs of the eastern country.

"Finist. The First Bogatyr" is a joint project of Yellow, Black and White studio, online cinema START and TV channel "Russia", created with the support of the Cinema Fund.

The production team included Eduard Iloyan, Denis Zhalinsky, Vitaly Shlyappo, Anton Zlatopolsky. The director of the picture is Dmitry Dyachenko, known for having directed "Cheburashka", a record-breaker at the domestic box office.
