Three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been shot down over the Kursk Region and Crimea. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 28.

It was specified that the UAVs were destroyed between 11:00 and 13:00 Moscow time.

"One UAV was shot down over the territory of the Kursk region, two - over the territory of the Republic of Crimea," the Defense Ministry said.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defense forces (Air Defense Forces) intercepted 56 Ukrainian drones overnight on December 28. It was specified that 28 of them were shot down over the territory of the Voronezh region, 17 - over the Rostov region and another 11 - over the Belgorod region.

Also on the night of December 28, it became known that two residents of Krasnogvardeisky district of Belgorod region were injured as a result of the attack of Ukrainian drones. In addition, one of the drones struck the village of Verkhososna, damaging a power transmission line (PL).

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
