Moscow will tighten control over cab drivers during New Year holidays

Inspectors of the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate (MADI) will strengthen control over cab drivers during the New Year holidays. This was announced by the Department of Transport of Moscow in its Telegram channel on December 28.
It is emphasized that at the beginning and at the end of the working day cab drivers need to undergo a medical examination and to conduct a technical control of the car. If this is not done, the car can be temporarily seized and sent to a special parking lot (under Article 27.10 of the CAO RF).
"Bad health at the wheel or car breakdown often become the cause of accidents, so passing a medical examination and technical control of the car allows you to significantly reduce the risks," - said Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
December 26, deputy head of the faction "Fair Russia - For Truth" Dmitry Gusev proposed to limit the ability of cab drivers to inflate the price of their services. Currently, in case of unforeseen circumstances, that is, "under the influence of unplanned short-term changes in market conditions," the cost of a cab can increase by a maximum of 20%, he said.
Before that, on December 17, the Public Council for Taxi Development told Izvestia that half of cab passengers in Russia do not use seat belts. According to the results of the study, the most responsible passengers were in Kazan, where 84% of cab passengers use belts.
