Marketplaces will confirm the quality of goods from September 2026

On Saturday, December 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law requiring owners of marketplaces to attach a certificate confirming compliance with the quality standard to the product description from September 1, 2026. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the law, a seller must add a link to a page with information on a certificate or declaration of conformity in the registers of Rosakkreditatsiya or the EAEU to the description of goods. The owner of the page where the goods are placed must provide the seller with such an opportunity.
If the seller has indicated a link to information on certification in the description of the goods, this information may be omitted when the goods are handed over to the buyer. If the goods are not subject to mandatory certification, the website owner must give the seller the opportunity to indicate this in the description.
It is specified that these requirements do not apply to the sale of resale goods and the sale in stores, where the buyer can familiarize himself with information about certification directly.
Earlier, December 18, it was reported that illegal goods and dietary supplements (dietary supplements), which have not confirmed their quality and safety may be prohibited to sell from September 1, 2025. It was specified that the bill on this was sent for approval, the document was formed by the Ministry of Economic Development.
