In Moscow, 12 people have been found guilty for participation in a criminal scheme to sell perfumes without statutory labeling. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk in her Telegram channel on December 28.

It is specified that the illegal activity was revealed in 2022. Then operatives found an ad on the Internet, which offered a wide range of perfumes. It turned out that it was packed in a warehouse located on Andropov Avenue in Moscow. The liquid was poured into small containers, which were sealed with labels bearing the logos of popular world brands.

The police managed to suppress the illegal activity with the help of Rosgvardiya officers.

Criminal cases were initiated for production, storage, sale of goods without labeling (Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and for illegal use of trademarks (Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

More than 30 searches were conducted in residential and office premises and more than 13 thousand units of perfume products were found. Their value is estimated at 50 million rubles.

"Police officers have identified 17 persons who are suspected of illegal activities. Depending on the role and degree of participation, they have been given sentences in the form of forced labor and deprivation of liberty conditionally for various terms. In respect of some of the defendants, the sentence has not entered into legal force. Another five continue to participate in legal proceedings," - said Volk.

Earlier, on December 25, the press service of the Center for Development of Advanced Technologies (CDPT, the state operator of the labeling system "Honest Mark") told Izvestia that almost 891 million illegal goods are blocked at cash registers in 2024. Speaking about the details, they noted that over 351.5 million expired and counterfeit dairy products, over 259 million packages of tobacco products and at least 101.5 million liters of beer were blocked.
