In addition, it is important to insulate water and heating pipes in advance, especially if the house is not heated. This will help prevent pipes from freezing and heat loss.

"You need to make sure that the sealants are tight against the surface of the window or door frame. You should regularly check the condition of the seals and replace them if they are damaged to avoid heat loss through gaps," Chikhrinova explained.
