Russian ambassador says Belgium's businesses want to cooperate with Russia

Belgian business would like to restore cooperation with partners in Russia. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Belgium Alexander Tokovinin on December 28.

According to him, the destruction of what was created in previous years and decades continues.

"While the Belgian business and its representatives are upset by this situation and would like to have the opportunity to restore cooperation and normal interaction with their partners in Russia," Tokovinin said "RIA Novosti".

Earlier, on December 24, it became known that requests from French entrepreneurs to help enter the Russian market come to the Russian Embassy in Paris on a regular basis. Many small and medium-sized firms in the Republic survive thanks to trade with Russia.

On November 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the volume of Western anti-Russian sanctions is unprecedented from a historical point of view, but the restrictions have not dealt Russia "a crushing blow, from which it will not recover". Thus, German businessmen not only regret the unwinding of the sanctions spiral, but also expect "the resumption of business as usual".

Western countries have tightened sanctions pressure on Russia in connection with the special operation to protect Donbass. The decision to launch the operation was announced on February 24, 2022 after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
