The head of the People's Front executive committee, Mikhail Kuznetsov, personally delivered gifts for children to the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) as part of the all-Russian charitable New Year's campaign "Tree of Wishes". This was reported on December 28 by the press service of the organization.

"Very soon the New Year, and we came to Makeyevka to 8-year-old Dmitry, who dreams of a mannequin for boxing" - the press service quotes the words of Kuznetsov.

For the boy the gift was a surprise and a complete surprise, as the application was filled out by his mother after a conversation with her son.

Another boy named Artem is engaged in karate and has been going to training for 4 years. Representatives of the "People's Front" delivered a sports mat to him so that he could continue practicing his movements at home.

Kuznetsov also delivered a gift for Daria from Horlivka. She dreams of learning to play an instrument. Ivan from the DNR, who is fond of robotics and constructors, received a robot with sensors so that the boy could design and assemble his own developments.

Schoolgirl Daria from Kursk region dreamed of a guitar. Denis Maidanov, a member of the People's Front Central Headquarters, Honored Artist of Russia and State Duma deputy, helped her fulfill this wish. He left an autograph and good wishes on the instrument.

"It is with great pleasure that I congratulate you on New Year and I am happy to participate in the fulfillment of your wish. <...> We are there for you!" - he said.

Living in the Kirov region, 12-year-old Alexandra has to move around on crutches due to health problems. However, a year ago she accomplished a real feat. When she saw a young woman being attacked by a man with a knife, the girl hit him on the back with a crutch. The attacker was detained. Representatives of the "People's Front" presented Alexandra with her first laptop. The girl's mother noted that the girl is very happy.

Earlier in the day, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin visited the studio "Soyuzmultfilm" together with children who participated in the action "Christmas Tree of Wishes". Young visitors were shown the process and technology of creating various cartoons: they tried to move paper characters while the camera is shooting from above, saw puppets created especially for one of the projects. Children also saw the process of creating three-dimensional computer animation.

The "Wishing Tree" charity event is a project of the Russian "Movement of Firsts" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been taking place since 2018 and lasts from mid-November to the end of February. Thanks to the campaign, children aged 3-17 who find themselves in a difficult life situation get the opportunity to fulfill a cherished wish or receive a gift for the New Year. In 2023, the Wishing Tree started on November 15 and runs until February 28, 2024.
