After the crash of a passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) in the Kazakh city of Aktau, the state of aviation safety in Kazakhstan should be carefully studied. This was stated by the President of the country Kasym-Jomart Tokayev on December 28.

At a meeting in connection with the plane crash, the head of state also noted that it is important to prevent the spread of false reports about the emergency and deliberate information provocations.

"He stated the need to scrutinize the state of aviation safety throughout the country. The Government Commission and the General Prosecutor's Office together with other authorized bodies have been instructed to ensure a comprehensive and objective investigation of the plane crash," the press service said on the presidential website.

In addition, Tokayev instructed the government to present state awards to the most distinguished citizens, who showed courage and professional qualities during the liquidation of the tragedy.

A passenger plane of AZAL Airlines, heading on the route Baku - Grozny, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. After the crash, the plane caught fire. Preliminarily, the cause of the plane crash could have been a collision with a flock of birds. After the incident, a criminal case was opened.

AZAL suspended flights from Baku to Grozny and Makhachkala until the investigation is completed. Later the company decided to suspend flights to Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara and Mineralnye Vody from December 28. The airline also published a list, according to which 62 passengers and five crew members were on board. Seven Russians died in the plane crash, nine survived and were hospitalized. Later, a special Russian Emergencies Ministry airplane took them to Moscow. Three of the crew survived.

On December 27, representatives of the Embraer manufacturer arrived in Aktau to take part in the investigation of the crash of their company's plane. Employees of Brazil's Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents (CENIPA) are also expected to arrive in the coming days.
