There were 344 road accidents in Russia over the past day

Over the past 24 hours, 344 traffic accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 30 people were killed and 420 injured. 27 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Saturday, December 28, in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 123 traffic accidents involving pedestrians, three people died, another 124 were injured of varying severity. Among the victims are 19 child pedestrians, 12 of whom were injured at crosswalks. Of the total number of accidents involving pedestrians, 62 occurred at crosswalks and 61 - outside their zone of action.

With the participation of buses on Friday recorded 21 accidents in which four people died, another 25 road users required medical attention. The cause of eight accidents involving buses were violations of traffic rules by their drivers.
Thus, in the Irkutsk region, at the 144th km of the federal highway A-331 "Vilyui", the driver of an intercity bus with 53 passengers collided with a truck moving ahead in the opposite direction, which was towing another truck. The bus after the collision went into the oncoming lane, where two more trucks collided with it. As a result of the accident, two passengers of the bus were killed and four others were hospitalized with injuries.

With the participation of minors 34 accidents were registered, 40 young road users were injured, including 21 passengers. Two children died.

In the Ulyanovsk region on the regional highway in the evening the driver of a passenger car in the authorized place went into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck. Two passengers of the car died in the accident, one of whom was a three-year-old girl, the driver's daughter, who was in her mother's arms at the time of the accident. Four other minor passengers of the passenger car were injured and hospitalized. All the injured children were being transported in the back seat of the car without the use of child restraints and seat belts.

In addition, in the village of Urengoy, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the driver of a truck removing snow after cleaning the territory of a cultural and sports complex hit a 13-year-old schoolboy who rolled under his wheels from an ice slide on an inflatable tubing. As a result of the accident the teenager died. He was unaccompanied by adults.

With the beginning of school vacations, on the threshold of the long New Year and Christmas vacations, the State Automobile Inspectorate draws the attention of parents to the need for constant control over the winter leisure of underage children in the fresh air. The agency recommended not to leave children unattended while riding from snow slides, especially near the roadway and in the evening. Lack of control over the behavior and leisure of children during the winter vacations often leads to injury or death of young road users, said the State Traffic Inspectorate. Also in the agency drew the attention of drivers to compliance with the rules of transportation of children in the cabin of the car.

"We remind drivers that the life and health of their young passengers depend entirely on the skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding behavior of the person behind the wheel on the road.
