One third of domestic tourist traffic to Moscow is accounted for by young people

Moscow is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country for young people - it accounts for a third of the domestic tourist flow to the city, Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina said.
"In 2024, Moscow was the owner of the honorary title "Youth Capital of Russia". Our city attracts guys from all over the country with an extensive event calendar, its culture and history, technologies and opportunities", - said Sergunina.
According to her, thousands of events are held in the capital every day - from concerts, exhibitions and movie screenings to excursions, master classes and sports training. Young travelers "visit festivals, walk along cozy streets and embankments, participate in business forums, try dishes of different cuisines of the world", the deputy mayor added.
Many young men and women come to Moscow for cultural and cognitive purposes. There are more than 8 thousand architectural monuments in the city. Only recently more than 2 thousand historical objects have been restored, including the House of People's Commissariat, "Khudozhestvenny" movie theater, House of Culture "HPP-2" and Miusskoe streetcar depot, where now there is a popular gastronomic cluster.
The main driver of the capital's tour industry development in the near future is domestic tourism. It is expected that by 2030 the city will receive 46 million residents of other regions - approximately twice as much as now.
