Experts told about routes for New Year vacations from Moscow and St. Petersburg

During the New Year holidays from St. Petersburg you can go to Kronstadt, and from Moscow - to Kimry. This is reported in the study of OneTwoTrip, which was reviewed by "Izvestia" on December 29.
Experts noted that Sestroretsk has excellent opportunities for walking along ecotrails, where you can enjoy fresh sea air with notes of pine and admire picturesque wooden dachas of pre-revolutionary construction. Summer time here is more active: volleyball is played on the beach, and sapas ride along the bay, while in winter calm and solitude reign. The distance from St. Petersburg to Sestroretsk is only 37 km: it takes about 45 minutes to get there by the WHSD, and 10-15 minutes more by the Primorsky highway. Also available are suburban buses that leave from Begovaya metro station, such as No. 211, 211E, 216A or 600. It is also possible to get there by electric train from Finlyandsky railway station, but in this case the journey will take about 50 minutes.
According to the research, Staraya Ladoga used to be the center of Northern Russia and was part of the trade route "from the Varangians to the Greeks". Today it is a small village (the status of Ladoga town was liquidated by Peter the Great). Here you can walk around the small Ladoga fortress, which houses a cozy local history museum, and then visit one of the oldest churches in Russia - St. George's Church, as well as enjoy the views of the Old Ladoga Holy Dormition Maiden Monastery, to which Peter the Great exiled his first wife.
Besides, from Moscow you can drive to Klin - in winter this small provincial town becomes a real center of attraction thanks to the Christmas toy factory "Yolochka". Even after the holidays are over, hundreds of tourists come here, and it is quite understandable - the toys are really attractive and worthy of adding them to your collection. The distance from Moscow to Klin is 102 km, and it is best overcome by "Lastochka", departing from the Leningradsky railway station, the trip will take 55 minutes. You can also go on a small car trip, which will take about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
In the cozy town of Gorokhovets, located in the Vladimir region, you can spend a wonderful weekend. The first day should be devoted to exploring the city and its architectural values - there are a lot of old wooden buildings and merchant's terems preserved here. The second day is recommended to devote to a walk along the "Puzhalova Mountain". The road to Gorokhovets will be 350 km, and from Moscow you can get there in about five hours. A faster way is to use the train "Lastochka", which departs from the Eastern station and will reach in a little more than three hours.
Earlier, December 26, it was reported that among the cities where you can still have time to book accommodation for the New Year at bargain prices are Kaliningrad, where the average cost of rent is Br4.7 thousand per day, as well as Derbent (Br3.24 thousand). This is stated in the research of the UMoneu wallet and online housing reservation service "Sutno.ru", which were familiarized by "Izvestia".
