Boxer Bamba died at 35 a week after winning the WBA Gold belt


Puerto Rican boxer and holder of the WBA Gold belt in the first heavyweight Paul Bamba died on Friday, December 27, at the age of 35. This was reported on December 28 in the social network Instagram (owned by the corporation Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia) by the agent of the boxer Ne-Yo.
"It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved son, brother, friend and boxing champion Paul Bamba, whose light and love touched countless lives," the agent wrote.
Bamba made his debut in the boxing ring in 2021. He won 19 victories, 18 of which were by knockout. In 2024, he won 14 victories out of a possible 14.
On December 21 of this year, the boxer knocked out Mexican Rogelio Medina, after which he won the championship belt WBA Gold.
The cause of death of the athlete is not specified.
