Lukashenko pardons 20 convicted of extremist crimes


President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko pardoned 20 more people, convicted of extremist crimes. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian leader on December 28.
"Of those pardoned, 11 are women, 14 have chronic diseases, 10 convicts have children, one woman has four children," reads the publication.
According to Lukashenko's press service, all the convicts have filed petitions for pardon and expressed remorse for their actions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will monitor their behavior after their release.
Earlier, December 9, Lukashenko signed a decree on pardoning 29 persons, who had committed crimes of extremist orientation. Among them, six people under 25 years old, three pensioners, two disabled, while 15 persons have chronic diseases.
Prior to that, November 7, the Belarusian leader decided to pardon 31 people, convicted of extremist crimes. Then there were two women and 29 men among the pardoned: three of them are disabled, while 17 suffer from chronic diseases.
