Police have detained a 17-year-old resident of Sestroretsk in St. Petersburg, who is suspected of setting fire to a communications office. This was reported on December 28 by the main department (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city and Leningrad region.

It is specified that the incident occurred on Wednesday, December 25, in Nevsky district. An unknown person threw a bottle with a flammable liquid and a lit wick into the window of the communication department, as a result of which the metal frame of the window from the outside melted.

"There were no casualties. A criminal case was opened under part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act")", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the department.

The attacker was detained on Friday, December 27. In the course of investigative measures it was established that the teenager acted on the instructions of unknown persons who contacted him by phone.

Earlier, on December 17, a young man was detained after setting fire to a military recruitment center in St. Petersburg. He threw a bottle with a flammable mixture at the door of the military commissariat. The fire was extinguished, the police officers who arrived at the address detained and took the resident of Sestroretsk to the department.
