The FSB reported the prevention of terrorist attacks against a Defense Ministry officer and a military blogger

Terrorist attacks by Ukraine 's special services against a high-ranking Russian military officer and a blogger who covers the events of the special operation to protect Donbas have been prevented. This was reported by the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on December 28.

"The Federal Security Service has prevented terrorist acts planned by Ukrainian special services against a high-ranking serviceman of the Defense Ministry and a military blogger covering the events of the special military operation," the agency said in a statement.

Law enforcers detained a Russian citizen who acted on the instructions of an employee of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of Ukraine, who introduced himself as Andrei. The curator and the recruited communicated via messenger.

The Russian received the coordinates of a cache in the Moscow region, from where he took an improvised explosive device (IED) with a capacity of approximately 1.5 kilograms of TNT. The explosive was in a polymer case with a magnetic attachment and was filled with ball-shaped projectiles. The device was disguised as a music speaker. In addition, the perpetrator conducted reconnaissance at the homes of those whose lives he planned to attack, in order to then lay an IED and detonate it remotely.

The detained figure is cooperating with the investigation. Law enforcers are carrying out a set of operational-search activities and investigative actions to document the crimes of the attacker.

Earlier, on December 24, the FSB detained an employee of a regime enterprise, who passed information about the Russian Armed Forces (AF) to Ukrainian intelligence. For his crime, the man received monetary remuneration. The investigative department of the FSB opened a criminal case under Article 275 ("High Treason") against the defendant. It is specified that the detainee pleaded guilty and is cooperating with the investigation.
