Train traffic has been restored in Voronezh Region on the Pukhovo-Yevdakovo crossing after a drone attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced by the governor of the region, Alexander Gusev, on December 28.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces (Air Defense Forces) overnight intercepted 56 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian territory. It is specified that 28 drones were shot down over the territory of the Voronezh region, 17 - over the Rostov region and 11 - over the Belgorod region.

"According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. Train traffic on the Pukhovo-Yevdakovo crossing has been restored. Operational services continue to work at the scene," Gusev wrote in his Telegram-channel.

On the eve of the Ministry of Defense reported that air defense means intercepted and destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones over the regions of the Russian Federation. Five over the territory of the Bryansk region, three over the territory of the Kursk region, two each over the territories of the Belgorod and Tula regions and one over the territory of the Astrakhan region.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
