Air defense forces overnight intercepted 56 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian territory

The air defense forces intercepted 56 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight over the territory of the Russian Federation. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 28.

"During the past night, 56 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed by on-duty air defense means," the ministry informed in its Telegram channel.

It is specified that 28 drones were shot down over the territory of the Voronezh region, 17 - over Rostov region and 11 - over Belgorod region.

Earlier. On December 27, the Defense Ministry reported 13 destroyed Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions. Five UAVs were shot down over the territory of the Bryansk region, three over the Kursk region, two each over the Belgorod and Tula regions, and one over the Astrakhan region.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
