The state prosecution in Moscow 's Khamovnicheskiy court has announced the testimony of the ex-head of Rusnano in the criminal case of property theft against Anatoly Chubais' former business partner Ilya Suchkov and other defendants. Vyacheslav Makarov, a lawyer for one of the defendants, told TASS on December 28.

"At the last session in the Khamovnichesky District Court, the prosecutor read the testimony of the injured Chubais, according to which he reduced his claims as the injured party, who had previously claimed 70 million rubles against our defendants. Now this amount is about Br65 million," Makarov said.

In addition, he noted that the defendants and their defense opposed such a decision, as from the very beginning of the trial insisted on the personal presence of the victim in the courtroom.

The lawyer clarified that Chubais' testimony has not changed, he still insists on bringing the defendants to criminal responsibility. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for January 16.

Earlier, on June 25, 2022, the Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow postponed the consideration of the criminal case on the theft of property from businessman Anatoly Chubais for an indefinite period. His lawyer added that the next hearing was to be held on Monday, June 27. In his opinion, the postponement was due to the absence of Chubais at the meetings.

Before that, on June 21, 2022, it became known that the defendants in the case of theft of property from the former CEO of "Rusnano" Anatoly Chubais in a residential complex in the village of Peredelki, Odintsovo district, did not admit their guilt.

On December 27, 2017, the lawyer of Parnas member Musa Sadaev, whose case is merged with the case of Suchkov, stated the total amount of damage for the theft of property from Chubais at 1 billion rubles.

In March 2022, businessman Chubais left the post of special representative of the Russian president for relations with international organizations to achieve sustainable development goals and left the Russian Federation.

It was reported that what happened was due to the businessman's disagreement with the country's policy on the defense of Donbass. At the same time, Chubais's entourage confirmed that he had left his post and the country, but did not give any reasons why this happened.
