Pushkov urged Danes to keep an eye on PM awaiting 'Russian attack'

The head of the Federation Council's (FC) Commission on Information Policy Alexei Pushkov on December 27 urged Danes to keep an eye on Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who admitted that she had stocked up on canned food and other essentials in case of a Russian attack.
"The Danish Prime Minister has said all sorts of nonsense before, calling almost to go to war on Russia, and now she is calling on Danes to stock up on canned food ... for three days - in case of a 'Russian attack'," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Pushkov also recalled that Sweden has been senselessly waiting for "an attack on Gothenburg" for 10 years.
The head of the Federation Council commission urged the Danes to keep an eye on Frederiksen so that she does not follow the example of former U.S. Defense Secretary James Forrestol, who, obsessed with the idea of the "Russian threat," committed suicide in 1949.
Earlier, on Dec. 27, the Danish prime minister said she had stocked up on canned food and other essentials because she feared attacks by Russia on NATO countries. According to the broadcaster, the recommendations to prepare for emergencies were distributed by the Danish Emergency Management Agency.
In March this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a communication with the military that Russia was not going to go to war with NATO. According to him, this is just nonsense. He noted that Russia has not moved to the borders of NATO countries, but the alliance has come close to the Russian borders and NATO is climbing even into Asia and Latin America.
The West regularly stokes hysteria among its citizens, warning of an allegedly imminent war with Russia. However, last December, Putin called such statements complete nonsense, pointing out that Moscow is ready for any attacks by the North Atlantic Alliance.
