Mi-28 crews disrupted the rotation of AFU units in the border area of Kursk region


Army aviation crews on Mi-28 helicopters as part of a mixed tactical group have disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) units in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 28.
It is specified that the pilots of the army aviation in the course of the combat mission to support ground troops launched missiles at coordinates, hitting armored vehicles and living forces of the AFU.
A forward aviation spotter confirmed the destruction of the target. After the strike, the crews performed anti-missile maneuvering.
Earlier, on December 27, the Defense Ministry reported that the AFU lost more than 600 servicemen in the Kursk region over the day. It also added that the AFU lost more than 44,570 soldiers during the fighting in the Kursk direction.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
