About 6 million dangerous dietary supplements have been blocked in Russia
At the request of Rospotrebnadzor, about a thousand names of dietary supplements containing hazardous substances have been blocked in Russia, a market source told Izvestiya. In total, about 6 million packages of dietary supplements have been blocked, the Center for Development of Advanced Technologies (CDAT, the state operator of the labeling system "Honest Mark") estimated.

As "Izvestia" found out, on December 25, this "Honest Sign" was asked by Rospotrebnadzor itself, which received a letter from CRPT with the presence of dangerous additives in circulation.
"In connection with the letter of LLC "Operator CRPT" about the presence in circulation of dietary supplements containing lithium in the composition, as well as their continued realization Rospotrebnadzor informs about the inadmissibility of the sale of dietary supplements with lithium and asks to take measures to suspend it. In addition, we also ask to suspend the sale of dietary supplements containing melatonin and simethicone", - stated in the document, which is at the disposal of "Izvestia".
Earlier, on December 17, it became known that the government will establish criteria for the effectiveness of dietary supplements. Doctors will be obliged to prescribe supplements that meet the new standards. The danger of dietary supplements is that they are not medicines, which means that the requirements for dietary supplements are not so strict. Vitamins can easily be bought in a supermarket or on a marketplace. According to the bill, Russia will have a list of eligible drugs. The list will contain data on diseases and dietary supplements that can be prescribed for them.
