The Ministry of Transport of Russia has proposed a phased abolition of discounts for payment under the "Platon" system. This is stated on December 27 on the official website of the ministry.

It is specified that the Ministry of Transport has developed a draft government resolution on the phased abolition of the reduction factor, which is applied to the amount of the fee to compensate for damage caused to roads by freight transport.

The Ministry of Transport recalled that the initial tariff at the launch of "Platon" was 3.73 rubles per 1 km, then a temporary discount to the tariff was established - a reduction factor (0.51), which has been in effect for more than nine years.

At the moment it is assumed that in case of gradual abandonment of the practice of using the discount from February 1, 2026 the fee will be 5.1 rubles per 1 km. At the same time, it is planned to completely abandon the use of the reduction factor to the tariff from February 1, 2028.

"Thanks to the above changes, the Federal Road Fund will receive an additional 243 billion rubles from 2026 to 2030. This will allow to increase the volume of repairs and maintain federal roads in standard condition", - informed the press service of the department.

Back in July 2023, the Ministry of Transport developed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO RF), which proposes to increase the fine for non-payment of the passage of heavy trucks on toll roads (system "Platon") from 5 thousand rubles to 20 thousand rubles.
