Two Russian citizens wanted for attempted murder in Uzbekistan

The Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan has put two Russian citizens, 36-year-old Bislan Rasaev and 31-year-old Shamil Temirkhanov, on international wanted list in the case of attempted assassination of former presidential spokesman Komil Allamzhonov. This was reported in the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan on December 27.

"It is established that citizens of the Russian Federation Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temirkhanov committed criminal acts in the form of illegal entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan and travel abroad, failure to report a crime, as well as illegal trafficking in firearms," - noted in the Telegram-channel.

The Prosecutor General's Office added that the Russians were brought as defendants in the criminal case, in respect of them in absentia applied preventive measures in the form of detention.

Earlier, on December 20, Uzbekistan put Rasaev and Temirkhanov on the international wanted list through Interpol. Among the charges brought against Rasaev and Temirkhanov are illegal possession and trafficking of weapons, as well as failure to report and conceal a crime. Rasayev is also charged with illegal border crossing and smuggling: Rasayev is believed to have been involved in the illegal transportation of goods or items that could have been used to prepare the crime.

The assassination attempt on Allamzhonov was committed on the night of October 26 in Kibray district. As Kun.uz reported, two unknown assailants shot several times at the car where the official was sitting. The man was not injured.
