State Duma deputy reacts to Vucic's words about Europe losing weight in the world

State Duma deputy Aleksey Chepa has said that Europe has lost weight in the world due to a series of economic and political crises. This is how the MP assessed the words of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic about the state of European states.
In a conversation with Lenta.Ru on Friday, December 27, the MP stressed that first of all, the reason lies in the economic crisis, as there is a decline in production and an increase in inflation and unemployment. There are also migration crises and other problems, indicating the loss of European governments' influence in the world.
The parliamentarian also noted the political crisis and cited the difficult elections in European countries and government resignations.
He called on the Western countries to restore peace in Europe, to stop the Ukrainian conflict and to establish relations with Russia, which is a constituent part of Europe.
Earlier on December 27, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Europe was losing weight in the world. In his opinion, the countries need to choose a more rational approach. He also supported the Christmas truce in Ukraine, because, in his opinion, it would be very problematic to resume fighting after 15 days of peace. Meanwhile, he said there was no certainty that at least one of the sides would be willing to take this step. Vucic added that peace in Ukraine will come only after the start of negotiations between the key world players, notes NSN.
On December 25, Petar Volgin, a member of the European Parliament from Bulgaria, told Izvestia that the Ukrainian crisis could end if the Ukrainian territories with Russian-speaking population are transferred to Russia after the end of the conflict in Ukraine. In addition, Kiev should refuse to join the North Atlantic Alliance, the kp.ru website noted.
On December 22, Vucic said that Belgrade would not impose sanctions against Moscow and Beijing and would not stop cooperation with the states despite Western demands. According to him, Russia is Serbia's ally and friend not only historically, the countries "also share a common future," RT writes. Before that, the Serbian leader announced the start of negotiations with Russia and the US because of possible US sanctions, 360.ru reported. Earlier, Vucic held a meeting with representatives of the Serbian Security and Information Agency (BIA). The authorities discussed a plan of action after the decision of the United States to impose new sanctions against the Serbian company NIS because of the Russian ownership of the enterprise, aif.ru specifies.
