Russians told about their spending in 2024


In 2024, Russians will not save money on vacations, trips to restaurants and movies, according to the data of the analytical center "Check Index" of the company "Platform OFD", which was reviewed by "Izvestia" on December 28. Average checks increased in all three categories.
It increased most noticeably for hotels and vacation homes - it amounted to Br8.5 thousand, which is 27% higher than last year. The number of purchases was 41% higher year-on-year.
In cinemas, an average of Br623 was spent, which is 9% higher than in 2023. The number of purchases was 23% higher year-on-year.
The average check for cafes, restaurants and fast food amounted to 965 rubles. This is 10% higher than in 2023. The number of purchases was higher by 7% year-on-year.
"The rise in consumption in the outgoing year put a noticeable emphasis on the service sector, and in particular on the leisure and entertainment industry," the experts emphasized.
According to experts, spending increased due to improved service quality and the convenience of ordering goods online through domestic platforms, expanding the range of goods to suit different customer needs, as well as increased customer traffic due to the growth in domestic tourism.
Earlier, on December 26, Maya Zvyagintseva, the head of wellness direction of Green Flow hotel chain, told Izvestia about a new type of health tourism. According to her, hiling is a modern trend in the tourism industry, combining travel and wellness.
