The doctor told about the benefits of compote

Compote from fresh, frozen or dried fruits and vegetables contains a lot of vitamins and minerals, which are especially necessary for a person in winter, expert of "Hemotest" laboratory, doctor-gastroenterologist Ekaterina Kashukh told "Izvestia" on January 5.
"Compote from apricots is useful for the cardiovascular and nervous systems due to the content of magnesium and potassium. Any fruit and berry decoction helps normalize the work of the GI tract (gastrointestinal tract. - Ed.), and if the drink includes prunes, it additionally gives a slight laxative effect. Cherries and cherries contain melatonin, which is preserved in the process of cooking, so compote of such berries will help to adjust to sleep," she explained.
According to her, the most useful compote is homemade. In such a drink everyone can independently control the sugar content. At the same time, compotes prepared industrially, most often contain too much glucose, so people with diabetes and overweight should be cautious about consuming such drinks, the doctor emphasized.
"From sour compotes should be refrained in the exacerbation of peptic ulcer disease of the stomach or duodenum, as well as with diarrhea," - added Kashukh.

In addition, vitamin E, which is also found in this fruit, has antioxidant properties, protecting cells from damage.
