Ukrainian media reported an explosion in Kharkiv


Residents of Kharkiv in north-eastern Ukraine reported a loud explosion sound. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication Public on December 27.
According to the media, the explosion apparently sounded somewhere in the vicinity of the city.
Currently, an air alert has been declared in a number of regions of Ukraine, including Kharkiv. The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the situation.
Before that, on December 25, it became known that in Dnipro (until 2016 was named Dnipropetrovsk) there were serious problems after a series of explosions in the city. As a result of overnight strikes on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, several power plants were affected.
On the same day, explosions were reported in several Ukrainian cities, including Kharkiv, Dnipro, Krivoy Rog and Burshtyn. The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on the situation.
Russian forces began striking military facilities and related energy and communications facilities in Ukraine in October 2022. As Russian President Vladimir Putin explained, this was a response to the Kiev regime's terrorist actions.
