Putin sets up scientific-expert council of the Russian Security Council headed by Shoigu

Russian President Vladimir Putin has established a scientific and expert council of the Russian Security Council. The corresponding decree was posted on December 27 on the Internet portal of official publication of legal acts.

"In order to improve the effectiveness of scientific-methodological and expert-analytical support for the activities of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and its working bodies, I decide to form a scientific-expert council of the Security Council," the document reads.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu became the Chairman of the Council.

By the same decree, the head of state abolished the scientific council at the Security Council.

Earlier, on August 22, Putin established the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on the implementation of state policy in the sphere of support for the Russian language and languages of the peoples of Russia. The structure was chaired by presidential advisor Elena Yampolskaya. By the same decree, he abolished the Presidential Council on the Russian language.
