Son of Soviet actor Soshalsky sentenced to 11 years in drug case


Ostankinsky district court of Moscow sentenced the son of Soviet actor Vladimir Soshalsky to 11 years in a strict regime colony in a drug case. This was reported by a correspondent of "Izvestia" on December 27.
Vladimir Soshalsky Jr. was found guilty under Part 3 and Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale").
The maximum punishment for the crime is up to 20 years in a penal colony.
July 29, Vladimir Soshalsky Jr. was arrested on the case of large-scale drug sales. The press service of the capital's Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported that he tried to flee, but was stopped by law enforcement officers. During the search three bags of drugs with a total mass of 2.78 grams were seized from the man.
Vladimir Soshalsky is a Soviet and Russian actor. He is familiar to viewers from the films "Academician Ivan Pavlov" (1949) and "Lomonosov" (1955). The actor died in 2007.
