Austria prepares to deport Syrians who have not integrated into society

Austria is preparing to deport Syrians who have not integrated into society. This statement was made by the country's Foreign Minister Gerhard Karner on December 27.
"The Federal Office for Foreigners and Refugees has suspended all asylum decisions for Syrians and has already started the first rejection procedures. <...> We are now preparing orderly deportations. First of all, priority here is given to those who have committed offenses and those who do not want to integrate and work. In addition, all already granted residence rights are being reviewed," Karner told Welt.
According to the minister, there are almost 100 thousand Syrians living in Austria now.
He also specified that consultations are being organized for the voluntary return of Syrians to their homeland. Austria also provides assistance in obtaining documents and organizing the trip.
"In addition, the amount of payment for voluntary return is being increased to €1 thousand," Karner added.
Earlier, on December 13, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer made the same statement about the cash payment for Syrians who want to return home voluntarily. He noted that Syria, due to the changes taking place there now, needs its citizens to rebuild the country.
Before that, on December 11, French MP Thierry Mariani told Izvestia that the situation in Syria is likely to become one of the topics of discussion at the plenary session of the European Parliament. He called Europeans who think that a new Syrian crisis will not cause an influx of Islamists into Europe naive. In the same month, Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova said that 130 children with confirmed relatives in Russia were ready to return from Syria.
The situation in Syria has escalated as a result of a major attack by armed formations in Aleppo and Idlib, which began on November 28 and led to the Syrian army's retaliation against the militants.
In early December, it was reported that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had resigned as head of state and left the country, instructing a peaceful transfer of power. On the same day, the national coalition of revolutionary and opposition forces of Syria said that they were working on the formation of a transitional authority. In turn, Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali said that most of the ministers of the Syrian government remain in Damascus, and he himself is ready to cooperate with any elected leadership.
Against this backdrop, the IDF announced the deployment of forces along the Syrian border to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens and communities in the Golan Heights. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the demarcation agreement with Syria has been terminated due to the withdrawal of Syrian troops.
