FSB shows video of killed terrorists who were preparing a terrorist attack in Moscow

The Federal Security Service of Russia has published a video from the place of neutralization of terrorists who were preparing an explosion in one of the police departments in Moscow on December 27.

The footage shows law enforcers storming the apartment where the suspects were located. Then weapons found on the spot, bags of saltpeter, evidence of involvement in a terrorist group, as well as gas cylinders in the car are shown.

According to the agency, the prevented terrorist attack was prepared by members of a cell of the terrorist organization Wilayat Khorasan (the Afghan wing of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" banned in Russia).

The Central Asians collected data on the Russian Interior Ministry's capital department, bought a car where they placed propane cylinders and started making an improvised explosive device. When apprehended, they offered armed resistance and were eliminated by return fire.

Firearms, ammunition and components of the IED were seized. A criminal case has been opened under articles on preparation of a terrorist act and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization. Investigative actions continue.

The day before, on December 26, the FSB thwarted terrorist attacks by the intelligence services of Ukraine against high-ranking Russian military officers and members of their families. Four Russian citizens were detained. During searches at the defendants were found IEDs and means of communication. Several criminal cases have been opened.
