On Friday, December 27, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov reported to him on measures to eliminate the federal emergency in the Krasnodar region.

It is specified that the conversation took place on the Day of the Rescuer.

According to data published in the Telegram-channel of the Kremlin, Putin and Kurenkov also touched on the work of units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on December 26, Kurenkov arrived in Anapa to monitor the progress of liquidation of the fuel oil spill. In the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations also reported that since the beginning of work in the Krasnodar region collected and removed more than 23.5 thousand tons of contaminated soil. More than 4.3 thousand people and 400 units of equipment were involved in the work.

A unit for pumping out oil products from sunken tankers has also arrived in the region, and preparations are underway to test the equipment on shore.

The Governor of Krasnodar Region Veniamin Kondratiev appealed the same day to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation with a request for federal assistance to eliminate the oil spill on the coast of the region. Later the federal emergency regime was introduced in the Krasnodar region.

Tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from the vessels. One person died.

On the instructions of the Russian President, a working group has been set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the accident with tankers. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the situation with the elimination of the consequences of the fuel spill in the Black Sea was under the attention of the head of state.
