The doctor told about the rules to minimize the harm of alcohol on teeth

Victoria Radko, head of the orthodontic department of the EUROKAPPA clinic's scientific and clinical center, spoke on December 27 about a few rules on how to minimize the harm from alcoholic beverages to teeth.
"Alcoholic beverages, especially those containing sugar or acids, such as cocktails, champagne and wine, can cause destruction of tooth enamel and provoke gum inflammation. "Increased acidity and sugar environment create ideal conditions for the development of caries and tooth sensitivity," Gazeta.Ru quoted her as saying.
She noted that it is worth avoiding frequent consumption of alcoholic beverages with pickles, citrus fruits and sweets, because this combination destroys enamel and reduces the protective properties of saliva.
To reduce the harm, you should drink alcoholic beverages with water, limit acidic snacks, be sure to brush your teeth before going to bed, but not immediately after drinking alcohol, Radko added.
Earlier, on December 13, Redko told "Izvestia" about products that can harm teeth. According to the expert, lemons, oranges and fresh juices have low pH, which negatively affects the enamel of teeth. Also tooth enamel can be damaged by red wine, opening seeds and pistachios.
