The Okhotomorsk cyclone is approaching the south of Kamchatka. It will bring snow and wind to almost all areas of the peninsula. The regime of unfavorable weather will remain in all days before the New Year.

Now it is approaching the extreme south of the peninsula, then it will slowly move along the eastern coast to the north. Its influence will spread to all regions of the region.

According to Anna Prikhodko, head of the meteorological forecasts department of the Kamchatka Hydrometeorological Center, snow is expected in all regions, in the eastern regions it will be heavy. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - moderate precipitation.

In coastal areas strong winds, up to 20 m/s are expected. Blizzards are not excluded mainly in the southeast of the region. At the same time it will become a little warmer. So, in the regional capital in the night hours the temperature will fall to -4 degrees, and in the daytime will be about 0.

According to preliminary data, the New Year's Eve in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky will be without precipitation. By this time the cyclone will go to the Barents Sea, and Kamchatka will remain in its rear part. It will begin to gradually get colder, in the regional capital is expected about -6 degrees Celsius.
