Lyubimova spoke about the importance of the Eurasian Film Awards


The invitation to become part of the Eurasian Film Academy and Film Awards was sent to Cuba, Venezuela, Serbia, Senegal, Ethiopia, Turkey and Syria, among others. Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova told Izvestia in a conversation on December 27.
"So far, the invitation to join the project has also been sent to Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela, Serbia, India, Vietnam, Senegal, Ethiopia, Turkey and Syria," she said.
The minister added that China has documented its participation in the project. Iran, Kazakhstan and South Africa noted the importance of the event and gave preliminary approval.
"This is a very important project for us. The Eurasian Film Academy and Film Awards are designed to become a platform for strengthening cultural ties and expanding international cooperation," Lyubimova emphasized.
According to her, the project is widely announced in the BRICS, CIS and other friendly countries of the Global South.
A separate nomination will be created for countries that are not members of the Eurasian space, but share the cultural values of the association.
The presentation of the Film Academy will take place next spring in Moscow. There will also be given the start of applications for the first Open Eurasian Film Award, which is scheduled for October 2025.
