Lyubimova reported on the condition of Rublev's Holy Trinity icon

According to a visual inspection, the icon "Holy Trinity" by Andrei Rublev "feels good", the inspection will be conducted quarterly. This was told on December 27 by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova in an interview with "Izvestia".
The head of the department stressed that the requirements for the stay of the icon in the Trinity Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra are observed, organized round-the-clock work of physical security, technical measures of surveillance and protection are used, biocontrol and mycological monitoring of the cathedral space is carried out.
"On December 13, a restoration commission visited the Sergiev Lavra to inspect the icon and assess its condition. All the parameters required for storage are observed. Visual inspection showed that the "Holy Trinity" feels good. All the necessary examinations have been carried out, detailed photo fixation has been made. All this data will be processed and an official protocol will be drawn up," Lyubimova said.
The Minister added that quarterly inspections will be carried out taking into account the schedule of services in the cathedral.
The icon "Trinity" by Andrei Rublev was installed in a stationary casket in the cathedral of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra in Sergiev Posad near Moscow on June 23 this year.
The decision to return the icon to the Lavra was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin last May. Already in summer the Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra and the State Tretyakov Gallery concluded an agreement on the transfer of the icon "Trinity" to the Lavra. Since the beginning of January it has been temporarily located in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and was available for worship.
