Khabarovsk man was given a suspended sentence for beating his child

The court of Khabarovsk passed a sentence in a criminal case against a 29-year-old resident of the city for torturing his own daughter. He was found guilty under the articles "Torture" and "Improper performance of duties on upbringing of a minor".

The man was deprived of parental rights and sentenced to 3.6 years of suspended imprisonment with a probation period of three years.

As IA AmurMedia reports with reference to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, it was established that in the period from June 2021 to May 2022, the defendant tortured his two-year-old daughter. He struck her with his hands, belt and other objects. As a result, the child suffered physical and mental anguish.

The father himself claimed that his daughter was injured due to his own negligence. However, the man's arguments were refuted by the conclusions of the commission medical examination.

Now the girl lives with her mother.

At the end of December it was reported that in Adygea a criminal case on the fact of torture of children by their father and stepmother was initiated. Information was spread on the Internet that in the village of Panakhes with regard to minors aged 17 and 16 years old are committed torture by their father and stepmother. A check was carried out, after which a decision was taken to institute criminal proceedings.
