Russian Armed Forces liberate the settlements of Ivanovka in the DNR and Zagryzovo in Kharkiv Oblast

Servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces have liberated the populated area of Ivanovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Lozovaya and Zagryzovo in Kharkiv Region. This was reported by the Defense Ministry on December 27.

"By active actions of the units of the grouping of troops "West" the settlements of Lozovaya, Zagryzovo in Kharkiv region and Ivanovka in the Donetsk People's Republic were liberated," the defense ministry said in a statement.

In its area of responsibility, the "West" units in the period from December 21 to 27 also defeated the manpower and equipment of four mechanized, assault, airmobile, airborne brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and two brigades of territorial defense, repelling 25 counterattacks by assault groups of Ukrainian militants.

"The enemy lost more than 3,080 servicemen, three tanks, including Leopard manufactured by Germany, three armored personnel carriers, including two US-made M113s, 38 vehicles and 53 field artillery guns, 24 of them Western-made. Eight electronic warfare stations and four field ammunition depots were destroyed," the ministry added.

Earlier, on December 22, it was reported that Lozovaya in Kharkiv region was taken under the control of the Russian army.

Also in the period from December 20, the Russian Armed Forces took control of Uspenovka, Novopustynka, and Krasnoye, which are in the DNR, were released Ostrovsky settlement and Storozhevoye in the DNR. On December 25, Novy Trud was liberated, and the next day the settlement of Gigant was liberated. Both are on the territory of the DNR.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
