Peskov urged to wait for Rosaviatsia's assessment of the plane crash near Aktau

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Friday, December 27, urged to wait for Rosaviatsia's assessments of the plane crash in the Kazakh city of Aktau.

"An investigation into this aviation incident is underway, and until the conclusions that will be drawn from the investigation, we do not consider ourselves entitled to give any assessments and will not do so," he said at a briefing.

According to Peskov, only Rosaviatsia will be able to assess the plane crash in Aktau. The Kremlin, in turn, believes it has no right to comment on the incident.

A passenger plane of AZAL Airlines, which was on the route Baku - Grozny, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25. After the crash the plane caught fire. Preliminary, the cause of the fall of the airplane could be a collision with a flock of birds. After the crash, a criminal case was opened. AZAL suspended flights from Baku to seven Russian cities until the investigation is completed.

AZAL published a list, according to which 62 passengers and five crew members were on board, 38 people died. In addition, the plane crash killed seven Russians, while nine survived, reports "Gazeta.Ru". They were hospitalized, later a special airplane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation delivered the Russians to Moscow. Four people, who were injured when the plane crashed, remain in intensive care in Aktau.

The head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, said on December 26 that the Russians injured in the plane crash remained in a stable condition during the flight to Moscow, four of them were on artificial lung ventilation (ALV). Two of the injured are in extremely serious condition, one of the patients is light, and the rest of the injured are in moderate condition.
