Yemeni Houthis from the ruling Shiite military-political movement Ansar Allah in the north of the country have launched a rocket attack on Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv as a response to the Israeli attack on the international airport in Sanaa. This was informed by the movement's representative office on December 27.

The Houthis said they carried out two military operations.

"One of them was targeting Ben-Gurion Airport with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile, while the other was a drone attack on a vital target for the Israeli enemy in the occupied Jaffa region," the movement's Telegram channel indicated.

It is added that several more drones of the Houthis attacked the ship "Santa Ursula" in the Arabian Sea.

The day before, the Israeli Air Force reported a massive series of strikes on the airbase and airport in the north of Sana'a in Yemen. The port of Hodeidah in the west of the country was also attacked. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was determined to fight the "hand of Iran" in Yemen. On the same day, the Houthis threatened a swift response to Israel's bombardment of Yemen.

A day earlier, Yemeni Houthis attacked Tel Aviv and Ashkelon with drones. Afterward, Netanyahu promised them the fate of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement, Lebanon's Shiite Hezbollah movement and Syria.

The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical Hamas movement subjected Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
