On New Year's Eve, we would like to remind about the principles of healthy eating, so that digestive problems do not spoil the New Year's Eve, and extra pounds after the holidays do not become a heavy burden in the memory. Irina Tishaeva, a gastroenterologist at GASTRO CLINIC, told Izvestia on December 28 about healthy eating habits.

"On New Year's Eve, give preference to appetizers, light salads, vegetable and fruit cuts. But you can also give up hot food. Firstly, it will simplify the preparation of the New Year's table, and secondly, you will not have to finish the remaining dishes for several days," - explained Tishaeva.

According to her, it is important to choose only fresh and high-quality products, to know the measure in alcohol consumption (one or two glasses of wine), as well as not to linger at the New Year's table, move more, giving preference to dancing or New Year's contests. This way calories are consumed, leaving heaviness and discomfort in the stomach.

According to the expert, if a person has problems of the gastrointestinal tract, the day before, check your home medicine cabinet, so that at hand were drugs that will quickly eliminate unpleasant symptoms. For abdominal pain and bloating will help antispasmodics, for heartburn - enveloping antacid medications.

"Remember the shelf life of cooked food. They should not be stored in the refrigerator for a long time both before and after the holiday. On the New Year's table, serve dishes gradually. It is unacceptable that salads and some appetizers stand at room temperature for several hours", - said the doctor.

Tishaeva noted that during the holiday it is important to drink enough water. It is better to refuse from carbonated drinks (mineral water, lemonade), as they can provoke abdominal bloating, heartburn and increase alcohol intoxication.

Earlier, on November 24, Natalia Kharchenko, candidate of medical sciences, gastroenterologist at the European Medical Center (EMC), told Izvestia about the most harmful New Year's dishes. According to her, olivier, mimosa and herring under fur coat salads prepared according to the classic recipe contain too much fat and salt, while meat and cheese cuts are "rich" in preservatives, dyes and flavor enhancers.
