Russians increased spending on goods by 6.8% in the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period last year. This is stated in the results of a study by the Higher School of Economics (HSE), which were presented to Izvestia on December 27.

At the same time, spending on services increased by 5.3%.

Russians spent Br44 trillion on goods and Br13.9 trillion on services. Expenses for mandatory payments and contributions amounted to Br10.5 trillion, the study emphasizes.

Also, the experts of the Higher School of Economics noted that the turnover of retail trade increased by 7.8%, and the volume of paid services to the population - by 3.5% in the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year.

Earlier, December 25, it was reported that the majority of Russians surveyed (59%) could increase their income in 2024. This is stated in the results of the study of financial marketplace "Vyberu.ru". Experts found out that 16% of respondents increased the level of wages due to the change of the sphere of activity. Additional part-time work was taken up by 31% of Russians. The main obstacles to the realization of their plans were lack of time, physical and emotional fatigue.
