- Medvedev commented on the refusal of a Norwegian ship to rescue seafarers from the Ursa Major

On December 27, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, commenting on the information that appeared in a number of media outlets that a Norwegian ship refused to take on board drowning Russian sailors from the Ursa Major vessel, said that such a thing cannot be forgiven.
He noted that when the hybrid war against Russia is over, Russia will be able to "forgive the weak countries" that succumbed to Western pressure; "ignore the US" because, in his opinion, a direct conflict could escalate into a global nuclear war; and "punish Europe" because the EU promotes Russophobia, promotes a sanctions campaign and is involved in the disruption of the Istanbul talks.
"The Norwegian-flagged vessel Oslo Carrier 3 refused to take on board Russian sailors from the Ursa Major drowning in the Mediterranean Sea. <...> This cannot be forgiven!" - Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel.
The wreck of the Russian ship Ursa Major in the Mediterranean Sea became known on December 24. As a result of the incident, two people were missing, 14 crew members were rescued. According to the media, the ship left St. Petersburg and was heading to Vladivostok, where it was supposed to arrive on January 12. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry's Situation and Crisis Center department, the incident occurred after an explosion in the engine room.
A criminal case has been opened over the fact of violating the rules of safety of movement and operation of water transport in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Russian Embassy in Spain is finding out the exact causes of the crash of the dry cargo ship, which occurred between Spain and Algeria. The Russian authorities are in constant contact with their Spanish colleagues.
