Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in the All-Russian charity event "Christmas Tree of Wishes".

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry took balloons with the dreams of three boys and one girl off the tree and told them about their wishes for the New Year. Thus, 13-year-old Ivan Lupin from Moscow dreams of attending a training session of the Spartak team. In turn, five-year-old Yuri Morozov from Noyabrsk wished for roller skates as a gift, and Matvey Lesnyak from Korolev near Moscow and Polina Abisidarskaya from Mariupol expressed a wish to attend a concert of the band "Lyube" and meet the lead singer Nikolai Rastorguev.

"I will fulfill all these wishes with great pleasure," Lavrov noted on December 27.

According to him, the "Christmas Tree of Wishes" action is becoming more and more large-scale every year, not only officials, but also entrepreneurs and representatives of public organizations take part in it.

"It seems to me that we are on the right track when we all try to create additional joy for children on the eve of this bright holiday," Lavrov said.

He also congratulated Russians on the coming New Year.

Earlier, on December 26, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova promised to give a violin to a 12-year-old girl Christina from the town of Ostrogozhsk, Voronezh region, as part of the "Christmas Tree of Wishes" charity event.

Before that, on December 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with a participant of the "Christmas Tree of Wishes" - 10-year-old Margarita Rutsinskaya from the town of Shebekino, Belgorod region. The Russian leader fulfilled the girl's dream: the schoolgirl made a training flight on a Sukhoi Superjet 100 flight simulator.

The "Wish Tree" charity event is a project of the Russian "Movement of the First" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been taking place since 2018 and lasts from mid-November to the end of February. Thanks to the campaign, children aged 3-17 who find themselves in a difficult life situation get the opportunity to fulfill a cherished wish or receive a gift for the New Year. In 2023, the Wishing Tree started on November 15 and runs until February 28, 2024.
