Medvedev called for political punishment of Europe

Europe should be punished by all available means. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev on December 27.
"Europe must be punished by all means available to us: political, economic and all kinds of hybrid. And that's why we need to help any destructive processes in Europe," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
In addition, Medvedev called Europe an "evil old woman" and pointed to its responsibility for the failure of the Istanbul talks.
As for the United States, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council emphasized that Russia should ignore them after the beginning of hybrid warfare on the part of the West, adding that "friendship is not expected in the next 100 years."
Earlier, on December 18, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia was ready to consider any proposals to establish relations with the United States. The diplomat noted that this issue "is not of today and tomorrow."
Before that, on December 6, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Russian Federation and the United States could cooperate for the sake of the universe. The diplomat also added that the Russian president has repeatedly expressed his respect for the American people, the history of the United States, and American achievements in the world. In November, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was open to normalizing relations with the United States, but Washington should take retaliatory actions.
In late August, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said that building good relations between Russia and the United States was the right approach. According to him, "getting along with Russia is good, not bad, it's smart."
